Arsenal have been told by Real Madrid that there is “no chance” of signing Norwegian international Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard, 22, completed a loan move in January and has become a valuable addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The Norwegian attacking midfielder has made 12 appearances for the Gunners and scored twice.
The player is valued in the region of a £45m to £50m and fans of Arsenal are calling on the club to make the deal permanent beyond the season.
However, according to Marca and several reports in Spain, Real Madrid do not want to let go of the 22-year-old attacking midfielder as they see him as part of the club’s future.
Arsenal’s loan for the Norway international does not include a buy option at the end of the season.
