Arsenal centre-back, Gabriel Magalhães has tested positive for COVID-19, ruling him out Gunners’ upcoming games against Brighton and Hove Albion and West Brom.
Mikel Arteta confirmed on Boxing Day that Gabriel would have to self-isolate after he was identified to have come in close contact with someone who had tested positive for Coronavirus.
As a result, he missed the Gunners’ 3-1 win over Chelsea and will now also miss the next two games after testing positive for the virus.
A statement on Arsenal’s website said: “Gabriel has tested positive for Covid-19 and is isolating according to UK Government and Premier League protocols.
“We will continue to monitor and support Gabriel, and we are hoping he will be available again after our next two matches.”
