Ollie Watkins made his second competitive appearance at the Emirates Stadium over the weekend – and his first for Aston Villa. His only previous game at the ground was in a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal with Brentford in the League Cup.
This time around, Watkins faced his boyhood club with Premier League Aston Villa. He took full advantage of the opportunity, scoring twice in a 3-0 win.
Afterwards, he joked his Arsenal-supporting family probably won’t enjoy the result too much.
“Not sure my Grandad & my Uncle Baz are going to be too happy about that because they’re Arsenal fans, I’m an Arsenal fan myself,” Watkins told Sky Sports. “But yeah, I’m buzzing…I’m sure they’ll love it. I’m over the moon.”
