An opening bid of £15m from Wolverhampton Wanderers have been rejected by Arsenal.
Talks between the two are still ongoing with Arsenal holding out to let the 22-year-old leave for at least £20 million.
Maitland-Niles is interested in the move and it is reported that he has agreed on personal terms with Nunoo Espirito Santo’s side.
The English international however started in the Gunners’ first preseason game ahead of the 2020/2021 season.
The 22-year-old has three years left on his current contract and Mikel Arteta is understood to see him as surplus to requirement as he rebuilds the team for the next season.
He has played 32 times for Arsenal last season and has been with the English national from the u-17 through to the u-21 levels.
