A mixture of u-23 and u-18 team have been listed to face Boreham Wood as the Gunners start their preseason games tomorrow, Saturday, July 6, 2019.
The North London based club faced Chelsea in the Europa League finals in June 2019, a game they lost by four goals to one.
Due to their involvement, the first team players will have an extended vacation as the preseason games begins on Saturday.
The likes of Alex Iwobi and Mohammed Elneny are currently participating in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and will stay a bit longer than the rest of the team.
Unai Emery will have a lot of players to pick from the academy as the game against Boreham will be a good test for the young academy lads who may have their breakthrough season if they perform well.
Names like Xavier Amaechi, Sam Greenwood have been resonating and a loan deal together with a contract extension may be handed to them.
The team will be led by Steve Bould in Arsenal’s first preseason game.
