Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin set to miss start of 2019-20 season due to continuing knee injury concerns
Unai Emery faces the possibility of not having right-back Hector Bellerin in the first four games of the 2019/2020 season due to his injury.
The defender who sustained the injury during Arsenal’s triumph over Chelsea in January underwent operation on the anterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee.
Initial doctors report suggested the Spaniard would be out for six to nine months which means the player will miss all of Arsenal’s preseason tours and the start of the new campaign.
The club have been informed by doctors not to rush the return of the defender which could lead to serious complications as the season progresses.
Arsenal begin their campaign against Newcastle before facing Burnley. Should Bellerin be out for longer still, he will miss the following game against Liverpool and the north London derby against rivals Tottenham.
