‘He has to go!’ – Angry Arsenal fans can’t believe what Edu did during first half vs Southampton

Theo Walcott came back to haunt Arsenal this evening, firing Southampton into a 1-0 lead against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

After suffering a sixth defeat in their last eight Premier League matches on Sunday evening, going down 1-0 at home to Burnley, Arsenal entered this evening’s tussle with high-flying Southampton in desperate need of all three points.

However, the Gunners fell behind inside the opening 20 minutes courtesy of Walcott’s cool finish.

The former Gunners ace, despite being up against his former club, did not refuse to celebrate, wheeling away in delight after putting Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side a goal to the good.

Whilst it was a delight for Walcott and his Saints teammates, Mikel Arteta, the Gunners manager, and technical director Edu watched on in disbelief and frustration.

Arteta continued to bellow out instructions from the touchline but Edu sat in the empty stands, was spotted shaking his head in disbelief at what was happening before his very eyes, as the Gunners’ struggles to continue to go through the gears.

Edu’s actions, which were caught by Amazon Prime Video’s cameras, soon sparked a reaction from the disgruntled Gunners supporters, who are growing more and more impatient with the club’s current troubles.

As expected, a plethora of Gunners fans soon voiced their opinions on what the Brazilian had just done, with some going as far as suggesting that he should also leave the Emirates Stadium if Arteta is to be sacked.

After another low-key opening 45 minutes, the Gunners equalised after the break through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s third Premier League goal of the season.

Since that, though, Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has been sent-off for a second bookable offence after bringing down Walcott.
