Arsenal extended their unbeaten Premier League run to seven games as they beat Everton 3-2 at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta’s side bounced back after the early setback of a Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal with one from Eddie Nketiah and a brace by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to give them all three points on Sunday.
It took Everton less than a minute to go ahead at the Emirates. Calvert-Lewin finished acrobatically after Arsenal failed to deal with a free-kick from the right from Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Arsenal was level in the 27th minute when Nketiah finished expertly past Jordan Pickford from Bukayo Saka’s cross.
And five minutes later they were ahead. David Luiz’s superb ball sent Aubameyang racing clear and he finished coolly past Pickford.
Everton was level in first-half stoppage time when Richarlison got the faintest of touches to a header from Yeri Mina to poke past Bernd Leno.
It was Arsenal who made the lightning start after the interval to retake the lead.
Nicolas Pepe’s deep cross the right was nodded home for his second of the afternoon by Aubameyang.
Nketiah had the chance to seal all three points in the final minutes of the match with a shot from distance but was kept out by the underside of the crossbar.
The Arsenal players had swarmed on a poor pass by Pickford and the striker was given the chance to add a fourth goal but failed to convert.
Calvert-Lewin headed a fine chance wide after Arsenal switched off for a short corner while substitute Moise Kean flashed a shot past Leno’s post as Arteta’s men survived to claim their third win in a week.
The Gunners moved up to ninth in the Premier League and seven points off Chelsea in fourth place while Everton drop down to 11th.
